how about a blog…

sunday i went to my sister in law’s baby shower. i was hoping to blog about it but it turned out to be rather disappointing. i feel really bad for her and my brother at the moment. they invited quite a few people and got quite a few rsvps back. people even offered to bring food. then the day came and these people did not show up. thankfully there wasn’t much money spent on food because that would have really sucked. it was pretty much just me (ben was at work), my sis in law’s mother, my brother’s best friend and his family, and one guest who i think was my sis in law’s cousin. she did get some nice gifts but i felt it was kinda shitty that no one showed up.

this week ben has quite a few days off, which is one of those nice things that only happens once in a while. monday he came home and we did absolutely nothing, which is nice… lots of snuggles, also nice… and he slept most of the day away. then we made epic meal time meatloaf (meatloaf with cheese and bacon) and i got him hooked on the show “Fringe”.

tuesday we went to the gym where ben used to train for full contact fighting a few years ago. he’s going to start going when he has the time to try and fix his weight issues. the truck driving crap makes it hard to really get any exercise or eat right, but i’m hoping these little gym visits will be helpful to him. and i could tell he missed it, even when he was whining about doing jumping jacks :p

today we have a doctor’s appointment for me. they told me at 36 weeks i’d be getting an ultrasound to check on the baby’s size but my appointments are scheduled for 35 weeks (today) and 37 weeks so… not sure if i am getting that ultrasound when i go in today or not. i kinda hope i am. i want to see my baby again! i just hope i am still measuring correctly and not getting too big because i am starting to worry about if they are going to force me to have him early or not. hopefully i am keeping my diabetes on track with just diet, but we’ll see what the doctor says.

after the appointment i think we are going to go see the new batman movie and i am excited because i am a total batman nerd.

thursday we are picking up a nice used dresser that we got for the baby’s room and then i can start putting clothes in it! finally some nursery action happening here… its a nice flat top dresser that i plan to use as a changing table as well.

friday ben has an eye doctor appointment and then he has to go back out on the road probably that evening

part of being a “trucker wife” is that i rarely get to see my significant other. i hate it, he hates it, but we carry on because we love each other. right now our situation is stuck this way because of financial issues, and the lack of jobs in this area. if we could just find him a nice paying job that would let him come home every night, it would be so nice, but that’s not going to happen the way the world is right now.

thankfully he is going to be able to take off for the birth of his son and stay home a couple of weeks to get to know him and help me out. i know he’s going to hate going back out on the road after that… i am going to hate it too.
